Camouflaged Christmas

imageI spent the last few hours trying to decide what and how to write this week’s Military Monday. Amidst dinner, movies, and people getting ready for bed, I finally decided to multi-task and just write… My apologies in advance if it’s not well written.

Camouflage: the act, means, or result of obscuring things to deceive an enemy… concealment by some means that alters or obscures the appearance.

The Duck Dynasty issue has been the buzz around town, social media, and living rooms across America. Camouflage has taken over! Ok…beards as well… I love camouflage, and aside from being surrounded by it growing up, I think it’s due to the stealth factor. Being incognito. And isn’t that the point?

The crux of the Duck Dynasty issue isn’t really about homosexuality, or freedom of speech. It’s about Christian persecution. Christians are the “enemy” to secular humanists that currently run our country, media, and culture. What better way to obscure the appearance of persecution than to camouflage it with “equality” and “rights for all”?

Last week, a budget was passed…a budget that slashed our veteran’s pensions in favor of keeping funding for illegal immigrants. This wasn’t an attempt to actually pass a budget. Our veterans and constitution-abiding military are the “enemy” to the we-all-belong-to-a-community, America-hating progressives. What better way to deceive us than to camouflage the truth with poor attempts at guilt for a certain group (illegal immigrants), and demonization of another (veterans)?

imageOur military makes use of camouflage in order to deceive an actual enemy. An enemy that seeks to slaughter us. An enemy that poses an actual physical threat. Progressive secular humanists have taken an ideology and made it their gospel…and anyone who goes against it, even an entire nation, is labeled an enemy. Sadly, most of them don’t have a clue to what a real enemy looks like, nor have they had to actually do combat with one.

Christmas is two days away. Has the lure of material things, traditions, societal “norms”, travel, etc been “the act, means, or result of obscuring” the real meaning of Christmas? Has it had “concealment by some means that alters or obscures” it? The true reason for Christmas is Christ. Plain and simple. How has your country, your liberties, your values, and most importantly your relationship with the Savior been hijacked by the enemy, camouflaged to deceive you?

Here’s hoping and praying that you will be blessed with the real reason for the season, not overcome by a camouflaged Christmas.

Military Monday message: Thank you for your service to our country… you are a beautiful gift to America, and to me!

Merry CHRISTmas!

Soldier on!
